Best Golf Course Near Busan? My Full Day Trip Review of Hill Sky CC in Gyeongju, South Korea

If you’re looking for a golf course near Busan that can feel like both a golf round and a short getaway, I recently visited Hill Sky CC with my family and honestly had a really enjoyable experience.
When people think of Gyeongju, they usually think about historical sites and sightseeing, but I realized it can also be a great destination for a relaxing golf trip.
Instead of feeling like a rushed golf schedule, the whole day naturally turned into a mini vacation.
Travel Time from Busan
Driving from Busan took approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, which felt very reasonable for a day trip.
Since we planned to return home the same day, we intentionally booked a later tee time at 1:27 PM.
Our plan was simple:
Drive → Lunch → Golf → Relax → Dinner → Home
Personally, I liked this much more than waking up early in the morning for golf.
The schedule felt much more comfortable.
First Impression of the Clubhouse
The first thing I noticed when entering the clubhouse was how clean and modern everything felt.
The lighting and interior design looked more premium than I expected.
It immediately created a relaxing atmosphere before starting the round.
First impressions matter, and this one felt really positive.
Relaxing at the Clubhouse Café Before Tee Time
We arrived around one hour before our tee time, so we spent some time at the clubhouse café.
The drinks were not cheap, but it still worked well for a quick break.
Things I liked:
✔ Spacious seating area
✔ Comfortable atmosphere
✔ Coffee and light meals available
✔ Enough space to relax before playing
Instead of rushing directly to the course, it gave us some time to slow down and get ready.
Hill Sky CC Course Layout
Hill Sky CC has a unique structure:
24 holes total
6 holes × 4 different courses
One thing I liked was that the course naturally creates small breaks throughout the round.
Because of this setup, you can comfortably:
- Stop by the restroom
- Grab snacks
- Rest briefly between sections
It made the overall round feel less tiring.
Cart System and Course Information
Since this is a no-caddie golf course, I was a little worried at first.
However, the cart system actually made things very convenient.
The cart screens displayed:
✔ Distance information
✔ Course layouts
✔ Pin locations
Even beginners can easily understand the information while playing.
Course Difficulty and Honest Thoughts
One of the biggest advantages for me was the course layout.
The fairways felt relatively wide, which made the experience more beginner-friendly.
Because of that:
✔ Driver shots felt less stressful
✔ Mistakes felt less punishing
✔ More comfortable for beginner players
The course also felt visually open and spacious, which made the entire round feel more relaxing.
Atmosphere During the Round
The weather during our visit was perfect.
The blue sky combined with the green fairways looked beautiful.
I also noticed several areas that felt perfect for taking photos.
It had a nice balance between golf and enjoying the scenery.
Real Weekend Experience
Because we visited on a Saturday, the course became slower later in the day.
We finished around 7:00 PM, and the entire round took approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes.
If you’re planning a weekend round, I would recommend leaving extra time in your schedule.
Sauna and Clubhouse Facilities

After finishing the round, we used the locker room and sauna facilities.
The facilities included:
✔ Towels
✔ Shampoo
✔ Conditioner
✔ Body wash
✔ Hair dryer
✔ Lotion
Everything felt clean and convenient.
You can easily use the facilities without bringing many extra items.
Things I Didn’t Love
To keep this review honest, the greens were not in perfect condition.
There were some spots where dirt patches were visible.
However, for beginner players, I don’t think it affected the game significantly.
Overall, it wasn’t enough to reduce my enjoyment.
Suggested One-Day Golf Trip Route
This was my full route for the day:
Busan → Gyeongju → Lunch → Café → Golf Round → Sauna → Hwangridan-gil Dinner → Local Beer Stop → Home
This was honestly one of my favorite parts.
Even though it was technically just a day trip, it felt more like a short vacation.
Instead of simply playing golf and going home immediately, we had enough time to enjoy food, cafés, and local spots around Gyeongju.
Final Thoughts
If I had to summarize my experience in one sentence:
“A perfect golf course near Busan for anyone looking for a relaxing day trip with golf and travel together.”
What I liked:
✔ Easy driving distance from Busan
✔ Flexible no-caddie experience
✔ Beginner-friendly course layout
✔ Golf and travel combined in one trip
✔ Comfortable facilities and atmosphere
If you’re searching for a golf course around Gyeongju, especially as a beginner or for a relaxed weekend schedule, I think this is definitely worth considering.
