Best Date Spots Near Gangnam Station | Korean Food & Cafe Guide in Seoul

Gangnam is one of the most popular districts in Seoul, offering countless restaurants, cafes, shopping spots, and entertainment options.
If you’re looking for an easy date course near Gangnam Station, this guide combines a Korean restaurant and a spacious cafe that are both within walking distance.
During my recent trip to Seoul, I visited Jeonghee, a modern Korean restaurant, followed by ALVER, one of the most unique cafes near Gangnam Station.
Here’s how I spent a relaxing afternoon in Gangnam.
1. Lunch at Jeonghee

The first stop was Jeonghee, a modern Korean restaurant located just a few minutes from Gangnam Station.
The restaurant offers a contemporary take on traditional Korean dishes, making it popular among both locals and office workers.
Even after the main lunch rush, the restaurant remained busy, which was a good sign.
For visitors planning to go during peak hours, waiting lists are available through Catch Table(APP).
What We Ordered

- Perilla Oil Makguksu
- Ceviche Bibim Noodles
- Korean Soybean Paste Wrap
The menu felt different from a typical Korean restaurant, offering creative combinations while maintaining traditional Korean flavors.
Food Review
The standout dish was definitely the Ceviche Bibim Noodles.
The combination of fresh fish and sweet-spicy sauce created a refreshing flavor that was perfect for a warm day.
The Perilla Oil Makguksu had a completely different character, featuring a rich and nutty aroma that balanced the meal nicely.
Sharing multiple dishes is highly recommended, especially if you’re visiting with friends.
Overall, the food was clean, flavorful, and not overly heavy.
2. Coffee Break at ALVER

After lunch, we crossed the street and headed to ALVER, a large cafe that had been on my Seoul cafe list for quite some time.
From the outside, the building looks like a small urban garden.
Surrounded by greenery, it’s hard to believe you’re still in the middle of Gangnam.
Interior and Atmosphere

One of the most impressive aspects of ALVER is its size.
The cafe spans multiple floors, including a basement level and upper seating areas.
The high ceilings, elegant chandeliers, and spacious seating create a relaxed atmosphere that feels more like a lounge than a traditional cafe.
Whether you’re visiting with friends, working remotely, or enjoying a date, there are plenty of comfortable seating options.
Drinks and Desserts
Our group ordered several tea-based drinks:

- Ginger Lemongrass Tea
- Black Buckwheat Tea
- Apple Hibiscus Blended Tea
We also shared a chocolate cake.
The cake was rich and dense, pairing well with the tea selections.
More importantly, the atmosphere encouraged us to stay longer and enjoy the afternoon without feeling rushed.
